This is an example of the Order of Our
Worship service on any given Sunday.
This description is what our worship follows in general and does not necessarily reflect anything that may
specifically occur during a particular service. A printed bulletin is
given to each participant in worship by the attending ushers and greeters.
The bulletin will give the specific order of worship for that morning with all
of the responses and congregational prayers printed. Any questions should be
directed to Pastor Craig during office hours in the church office (See Sidebar).
The United Church of Christ practices Open Communion. Anyone called to God's
Table is Welcome to partake of the Sacrament when it is offered during any
service. If you have any questions, please contact Pastor Craig during office hours through the church office
No matter who you are, or where you are on life's journey, you are welcome
in this United Church of Christ Congregation- where God is still speaking.
After this, Pastor calls the congregation to worship.
The first sound of the organ is God's call, for we who are the gathered church/faith
community, to approach God in respectful preparatory silence. This quiet time
personally makes ready our minds and prepares our spirits to honor God in
worship, that we shall become adequately equipped to live faithfully and
meaningfully the mission and ministry of God's call upon our lives, in the
community of the world where we live, work and play.
- We offer Praise to God in worship through music
and song.
- Hearing and engaging God's word in
scripture, prayer and message.
- Responding to God's word by re-entering the world
from which we have come to live out and serve God in our mission and ministry.
