Youth Worship Sunday 2011

Christmas 2011

The United Church of Christ practices Open Communion. Anyone called to God's Table is Welcome to partake of the Sacrament when it is offered during any service. Our church offers the Sacrament on the first Sunday of the month and at many holiday services. If you have any questions, please contact Pastor Noble through the church office.

West Park United Church of Christ is a family of believers who continually share their time and talents to strengthen this body of Faith. We, the members of West Park United Church of Christ, want to share our blessings with others through our wider missions and our community outreach. We support programs of spiritual growth and caring. We, as a church community, give from our hearts, and acknowledge God as the True Source of these Gifts. We welcome all who accept Jesus Christ as their savior or anyone seeking to know The Christ.

We want all who enter West Park United Church of Christ to feel welcome. We have a beautiful sanctuary which is the home of our Sunday Worship. Literature about the church's history, programs, mission and ministry is available to all new members and guests.

Our Interim Minister, Rev. Charlotte Noble, provides a concerned and caring ministry to our church. She is always available to all and is a helpful and guiding hand. Our Licensed Minister, James R.Furry , also provides caring council whenever it is needed.

Wendy LeForge, our Director of Christian Education, leads the efforts of our Youth Education Programs including our Confirmation program, Sunday School and Nursery and Vacation Bible School. We also have Church Retreats for all families and adults.

Our Director of Music, Kathleen Bosl, leads the efforts of our Chancel Choir and Adult Bell Choir.

Along with our Sunday Services at 10am in our sanctuary, There are special services for Christmas Eve and Easter. Special programs/services on Ash Wednesday and during the  Lenten season and Holy Week are provided each year.

We open our facilities to other community groups like  Scottish Dancers and the Cuy-Lor Stamp Club. Many of our church members volunteer at Fairview General Hospital where we also provide devotional material for those in need. We are active in providing for food for our local The West Park Community Bread Basket Mission. We are members of The Western Reserve Association of The United Church of Christ and The Ohio Conference of the United Church of Christ. We are also members of the National Council of Churches.

Discovery World, an independently operated pre-school which provides care and learning for children in the local community, uses our educational rooms during the week.

On the first Sunday of every month, we serve Holy Communion. Following this service, we enjoy a Coffee Hour prepared by our Board of Deaconesses. This is a time of fellowship enjoyed by everyone.

We have a  Bible Study. The Scriptures discussed are the selected readings for the coming Sunday Service (see above announcement at the beginning of the page). All are welcome. Click on "Bible Study" for day and time.

Light plastic magnifying lenses and back cushions are in various pews for your comfort. "Personal PA's" to aid hearing, enlarged copies of the bulletin, books and drawing paper for the children are available by asking any usher. Devotional booklet guides are available at our resource table in the church narthex for you to take home to enjoy or share with a friend or loved one.

We welcome all to share the joy of being a member of the Body of Christ. Please feel welcome to join us in worship. Should you have any questions about West Park United Church of Christ, its programs and ministries, please notify our Church Secretary, Linda Ferro in our church office between the hours of 9:30 am - 2:30 pm Monday through Friday. Please leave a message if the office is closed.  Someone will be in contact with you. You may also contact one of our staff persons. The greeters and ushers present on Sunday in the Narthex are happy to assist you.
